Our heritage restoration and repurposing of the historical old mill in Cambridge, Ontario has revitalized the downtown area and provided an anchoring presence in the community.
Now reimagined as a restaurant and event center, this heritage jewel has been restored to its former glory while adding several floors of new amenities.
We worked closely with the Cambridge Historical Society to preserve the existing heavy timber structure and stone facades.
Project
Description
We meticulously followed the language of the period architecture while also adding modern elements of steel and curtain wall glass to differentiate the new functional areas from the historical building.
This allowed us to develop a cohesive design palette, working alongside our interior design partners to ensure seamless integration of the historical spaces located within the existing mill, preserving the structure to use as the backdrop for hospitality functions.
